To see what is running on startup
- Click start
- click run
- type msconfig
On the top of the box is a tab marked Startup.
Your choice of programs
As you can see the list can be long.

Before you go clicking like mad.
You may just want to write down the programs in question.
The program name can be found in the Command row.
You may need to expand the row wider to see the full width of the row and the program name.
Then open the program and read the help.
Most programs have an options,tools, or preference selection that will allow you to stop it from starting up at boot up.
If you are puzzled by some program.
Below I have put a form that will enable you to search the internet for that program and find out if you really need it.
Just type in the for box the name of the program.
EG: QTNOTIFY.exe and your results will open in a new browser.
