Most Digital cameras start at 3 mega pixels for a good quality picture.
Over a short time you can see how your hard drive will fill up.
If you just bought you p/c with XP and dont have SP-2 installed:

1.6 GB of available hard disk space is needed during installation.
I wonder how much space will be needed to for SP-3.
